Beginner mistakes in PUBG Mobile that cost you matches

New players lose matches to the same errors every time. Here are the specific mistakes to fix first, from loot timing to rotation habits, so you stop dying to preventable stuff.
Most deaths are avoidable
New players in PUBG Mobile don't usually lose to better aim. They lose to bad decisions made before the fight even starts. Fix these and your survival rate goes up without touching your sensitivity settings.
Looting for too long
Spending three or four minutes fully looting one building while the zone starts moving is a common trap. You end up rotating late, running through open ground, and getting caught by players who are already in position. Set a rule: grab a weapon, some ammo, and a med kit, then move. You can loot more on the way to the zone.
Landing without a plan
Hot dropping into a crowded named location with no idea what you'll do if you land unarmed is how most early deaths happen. If you're not confident in close range fights yet, land on the edge of a busy area or in a smaller building nearby. You still get loot, but you're not gambling your whole match in the first 20 seconds.
Fighting in the open
Returning fire from open ground because you got shot first is a habit that gets punished fast. If you're caught without cover, your first move should be finding any object to break line of sight, not shooting back immediately. A rock, a tree, a vehicle, anything works better than standing and trading shots in the open.
Ignoring the minimap
New players check the zone only when the timer runs out. By then it's too late to rotate safely. Glance at the minimap every time you loot a building or finish a fight. Know which direction the next zone is likely to move before the circle even closes, based on where the current safe zone sits.
Carrying the wrong inventory
Filling every inventory slot with attachments you don't need while carrying zero smoke grenades or only one med kit is a common setup mistake. Prioritize: enough heals to survive two fights, at least one smoke or grenade for pushing or escaping, and only the ammo types you actually need for your current guns. Drop the rest.
Peeking without a reason
Peeking a window or a doorway just to check if someone is there, with no plan for what happens if they shoot back, gets players killed constantly. Every peek should have a purpose: you're checking a specific angle, you're baiting a shot to locate an enemy, or you're taking a confirmed shot. Random peeking is how you die to someone who was already aiming at that exact spot.
Driving into fights
Vehicles are loud and visible. Driving straight into the middle of a firefight or parking next to a building you're about to loot tells every nearby player exactly where you are. Park at a distance and walk the last stretch, especially late in the match.
Panicking in the final zones
The last few circles punish hesitation and panic equally. Players either freeze and get caught by the zone, or push blindly into the last enemy without cover. Slow down. Use whatever cover the shrinking map gives you, and don't commit to a fight unless you can see where the shots are coming from.
Fix one thing at a time
Trying to correct all of this at once usually backfires. Pick one habit, like checking the minimap more often or cutting down loot time, and focus on it for a few matches until it becomes automatic. Then move to the next one.
Survival comes from decisions made away from fights, not just aim during them.
