The close-range rush loadout that wins Warehouse TDM fights
4 August 2026 · playnex
A breakdown of the SMG-and-shotgun rush loadout for tight BGMI maps like Warehouse, why it works in close quarters, and when it falls apart in open engagements.
The loadout
Primary: UMP45 or Vector with a red dot or holographic sight, a vertical foregrip, and an extended quickdraw magazine. Secondary: S12K or a pump shotgun for point-blank trades. Skip the 4x or 6x scope entirely. You will not need it.
This is a rush loadout. It is built for fights inside ten to twenty metres, which is exactly what you get on maps like Warehouse.
Why it works
SMGs have fast fire rate and low recoil, so you land more hits while peeking corners or holding doorways. The vertical foregrip keeps your spray tight enough to punish anyone who stands still for more than half a second. The quickdraw mag speeds up your reload, which matters when a second enemy pushes right after you drop the first.
The shotgun secondary is your insurance. If someone rushes you with a melee weapon or catches you mid-reload, one shotgun blast at close range ends the fight before your SMG mag is even back in.
How to actually use it
- Hold angles, do not push into open rooms blind. Let the enemy come to the doorway.
- Fire in short bursts, not full-auto sprays. Three to five bullets, reassess, fire again.
- Switch to the shotgun the moment someone gets inside four metres of you. Do not try to out-spray them with the SMG at that range.
- Reload behind cover, never in the open, even in a 1v1 mode.
When it does not work
This loadout falls apart the second the fight opens up. Take it onto a map with long sightlines or wide rooms and you will lose to anyone holding an AR with a mid-range sight. SMGs lose accuracy fast past twenty-five metres, and you have no scope to compensate.
It also struggles if the enemy has better positioning and can hold a chokepoint you need to pass through. Rushing a held angle with an SMG is how you die twice in the same round.
Match the loadout to the map, not the other way around. A rush build on an open map is just a faster way to lose.
Where this loadout fits right now
Warehouse is a tight, close-quarters map. Short lines of sight, lots of cover, constant close-range contact. That is the exact environment this loadout is built for.
If you are testing it out, run it in short practice sessions first. Pick one doorway or one lane, hold it for five rounds, and track how many fights you win versus how many you lose to someone who out-positioned you. Adjust your foregrip or sight choice based on what you see, not on what feels right in the moment.
Try it in a real match
playnex is running a BGMI TDM Showdown on Warehouse right now, single elimination, 1v1 format, registration open with room for eight players. It is a direct way to test this exact loadout in the exact map conditions it is built for.
